Atlantic Vibes Surf Hostel

I left feeling that future guests should be cautious, especially women, and I would not recommend this hostel. I hope local authorities and the Ministry of Tourism look into cases like this, since this kind of management can damage Morocco’s usually warm and respectful hospitality. There’s a lot to say, but my advice is to choose somewhere else if you want to enjoy your holiday and feel at ease. On checkout day, the owner suddenly shouted at me, and I felt there was no valid reason. He brought up personal details in a way that made me uncomfortable, as if trying to blackmail me, and spoke threateningly about knowing my address. I had followed the house rules. This started after he misunderstood a friendly conversation I’d had with a woman staying there. Rather than calmly asking about it, he raised his voice, insulted me and tried to push me down. I felt he acted weakly, insecurely and irresponsibly, like a child. He kept saying he wanted the woman for himself, and I believed he was sexually abusing girls. Before checkout, things had seemed relatively okay, but my general impression of the hostel was already poor. The kitchen was messy, the rooms and bathrooms smelled bad, there were small insects such as ants and cockroaches, and the breakfast didn’t look hygienic. The person managing the place, whom I knew as “Simon”, was disrespectful and unprofessional from the start, acting as if my paid stay were a favor. I was shocked by what happened, and felt it was a safety issue for future guests.

The rooftop terrace became our favourite place to hang out, with its amazing beach view, and we found it easy to meet people there. My cousin and I planned to stay two nights at Atlantic Vibes Surf Hostel, but ended up staying four. Abdo and Zehra welcomed us warmly, and the beds were clean. Simo was a great host, made us feel special, and we had fun chats and played chess together. There’s a relaxed atmosphere and nearby surfing and jet skiing. We can’t wait to come back. Thanks, guys!

The location and basic facilities are okay, but I didn’t feel welcome. The owner is very controlling, and it made me feel watched. Rules that weren’t on the booking site and weren’t mentioned when I reserved kept coming up as things I wasn’t allowed to do. Even clean sandals aren’t allowed indoors, so you have to walk barefoot for no clear reason. Guests also don’t get a key, which means coming back after 2 a.m. could leave you locked out all night. Even asking questions or spending time in the shared areas felt uncomfortable. I wouldn’t recommend it if you want somewhere relaxed and friendly.

The staff were the best part for me. Everyone was kind and up for a chat, and they had helpful suggestions for what to see and do. Breakfast was freshly cooked each morning, and it was delicious. The other guests were nice and relaxed too, the vibe was just right. The beds were comfortable, the facilities were great, and the whole hostel was impressively clean, which matters a lot to me since I hate dirt. The rooms had lovely views, and the rooftop was a perfect place to unwind and watch the sunset over the ocean. We loved our stay at Atlantic Vibes and would recommend it to everyone. Thanks, 11/10!!!
