The rooms were large, distinctive, and nice, and the rooftop had a gorgeous sunset view. There was plenty of hot water with good pressure in the bathroom. The over-400-year-old riad is a cool place in the middle of the Azzemour Medina. If you’re driving, use the lot beside Ali Baba restaurant, to the right of the Medina. Don’t park across the street from the Medina. Be sure to tell the Riad when you expect to arrive. We waited 15 minutes for someone to come, while cute little children surrounded us asking for money and throwing rocks. Although our room seemed clean, my partner and I kept sneezing all night because we’re both very allergic to cats, and he needed his inhaler a few times. This may not suit you if you have a cat allergy. It worked fine for our last night before a morning flight from Casablanca, but Azzemour isn’t somewhere I’d return to.

The room was very clean, and the Riad sits in the heart of the old medina beside the river, with a beautiful view. Spending the night on the roof is the kind of thing you wish you could do every day after a rough day at work. It’s a lovely, peaceful place, and Rachida the Host is so warm and smiley that you feel at home.

The rooms are amazing for the price, and Rashida was a wonderful host who couldn’t do enough for us. We had breakfast on the lovely terrace with amazing views. Definitely recommend it.

The place itself was beautiful, but the booking description was misleading. It said bed and breakfast, though breakfast wasn’t included in the price. We only found this out after eating on our first morning. We tried to sort it out, but were threatened with the police if we didn’t pay.
