Our second night at Hotel Barcelo Casablanca was quiet and restful, thanks to Issam moving us to the ninth floor, away from the busy street. That changed my rating from one star to four. He listened to what had happened and took care of it. We checked in on Saturday, February 7, 2026, and our fourth-floor room faced a busy street. People partying outside shouted and screamed into the early hours of February 8. Around 3:30 AM, other guests came back to the fourth floor and talked in the hallway for quite a while while smoking, even though the hotel says it's non-smoking. I finally fell asleep, then woke around 7:00 AM to a nearby guest smoking again. It kept happening on and off for the next hour and a half. That morning I told the young man at the front desk, who said he'd report it if his manager came by. When I checked back around noon, he still hadn't seen the manager. I asked to move to another room on a different floor, but he said the hotel was fully booked, which seemed dubious given the day and time of year. After our day's activities, I spoke to an older, presumably more experienced desk clerk, and Issam moved us.

The shower in our room had an issue, but the restaurant staff were so good that they made the experience better. Dinner was fantastic. The location is great, with a short cab ride to the Mosque and Rick’s Cafe.

The staff were the best part of the hotel, all of them kind. It's very comfortable and clean, and the Moroccan-style breakfast was delicious. The location is a bit noisy, but I chose to stay in the city center.

We had to sleep with earbuds because the street was so loud, with traffic horns going constantly. Still, we enjoyed the hotel and the complimentary breakfast was amazing, with loads of options. The kitchen and wait staff were so kind. Very nice stay, and we'll be back for sure.

Hassan was professional and kind, and the service was calm and attentive. Breakfast at Barceló was genuinely excellent, with fresh food, good ingredients and a thoughtful selection, all beautifully presented. It felt like everything had been carefully considered, and it was a perfect start to the day.
