The mold was everywhere: on the air vents and shower heads, and coming through the ceilings and walls. Every room in our large group of five had some level of damp or mold. Our vent was covered in black mold, and turning on the air made the whole room smell moldy. The rooms were damp, noisy at night, and the breakfast wasn't very good. This could be a serious problem for anyone with a health or breathing condition. We showed the front desk a photo of the vent, but they brushed it off and seemed unconcerned. After we insisted, they agreed to wipe it with a cloth. When we said we weren't comfortable staying with that much mold, they became dismissive and seemed unhappy with us. They said another room would be the same and that if they wiped the mold away it would “be back in one week.” The reception staff were rude and not very helpful. I highly recommend not staying here.

We had a lovely room in the blue ocean suite. The reason I'm writing, though, is what happened at checkout. They asked us for an extra 400 DM in cash, a charge that wasn't on our bill. It left a very bitter taste.

There is one clear plus: the restaurant serves alcohol at average prices for Morocco. The breakfast has a large selection, but it isn't very tasty, and the juices and fruit can be stale. The hotel may have deserved four stars in its heyday, but now the air feels damp, the rooms are dark and gloomy, and the hallway floor is uneven. The air conditioning unit is plastered over, water dripped onto a lamp and flooded the balcony, and staff emptied the trash cans some days but not others. Our room faced a busy, dirty street that ends at a very littered beach where sewage flows.

A wedding party stayed at the hotel for five nights. The deluxe sea view rooms are the ones to choose. The hotel has a pleasant atmosphere and layout, and the staff provided service that went above and beyond.
