L'Hostel

Breakfast was a real highlight, and the staff were attentive and genuinely friendly. My 10-person room was quiet and very clean, and the hostel itself felt safe. I’ve stayed in plenty of hostels, and I’d recommend this one even as a middle-aged guy. There wasn’t much in the way of organized activities like some hostels offer, but you can make your own plans. I walked or took an Uber wherever I wanted to go.

The downstairs dorm was comfortable, and the staff were helpful and very nice. I only needed a place for one night during a flight layover, and being able to walk from Casa Oasis station, about 700 meters away, was handy. There’s a kitchen you can use, too. I left before breakfast service began. It would’ve been nice to be offered some fresh juice or a drink tray when I got up, but that didn’t happen. The bathroom on the lower ground floor was grim, so I used the smaller but cleaner one on the ground floor. For a solo overnight stop, it suited me almost perfectly. I’d stay again if my trip called for it.

The hostel has a nice indoor lounge and an outdoor area where you can sit around with other travelers. It’s also within walking distance of the railway station and tram. I really liked the decor and atmosphere, and the staff were very polite. Had an amazing stay.

The gardens at the front and back are lovely, and every day we found fresh flowers from the garden in our room. The staff were kind and accommodating, and breakfast was magnificent, with French and Moroccan items, much of it made in the kitchen by the staff. The historic building is stunning, with beautifully maintained artwork, Islamic furniture, and marble and stonework throughout. It feels almost like an architecture museum. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of Casa Oasis Train Staition and close to the tram. There are quite a few stairs to reach the rooms, as you’d expect in a historic property. I highly recommend staying here in Casablanca.
