The rooftop sleeping setup was a memorable experience. You can hear the morning prayers echoing back and forth over the mountains, which was amazing to witness if you haven't heard it before. The place is basic but mostly hygienic for a low-budget hostel, and you can rent an apartment indoors instead if you prefer. The view and atmosphere are lovely, though getting to town means roughly a 30-minute uphill walk. It was good exercise. Service was modest, friendly, and honest. Since the place is remote, you'll need to check for small shops nearby, and the owner is happy to point them out. If people doing Workaway are there, you might get a nice breakfast for little money. We had a great time as a couple, even though there's room for improvement. If the door is closed, ring by pulling the bottle or call the owner. I'd recommend it.

The host was really friendly and gave honest advice about the city and the region. The rooftop is simply furnished, but perfectly fine for the price, and it has a bit of a camping under the open sky feel. I'd recommend hiking in the mountains above the city, staying overnight in Azikane for 250DH/pers including a very good dinner and breakfast, then taking a taxi back from Akchour for 25DH/pers.

The manager was so welcoming and friendly, and the location was perfect. Our flat had a fridge and all the facilities we needed. The rooftop terrace is beautiful, with an amazing view. The pictures were taken from up there.

The rooftop terrace was beautiful, with an amazing view, and the staff were incredibly helpful. The hostel was comfortable, and I liked being a little way out from the town center. A couple of times it was hard to find a taxi to the medina, though, and the shower wasn't step-in style. I stayed for two nights with friends and would highly recommend the place for a big group visiting Chaouen.
