We were six motorcyclists on a November trip and had a lovely stay. The staff, food, and room were all really nice, and there was secure parking for our bikes. It was too cold to enjoy the outdoor space, but I can imagine it being lovely in warmer weather.

The balcony views were amazing, and the rooms themselves are gorgeous. We also enjoyed the generous, tasty breakfast, and the staff were friendly and helpful. A few small things took the edge off the stay, like a creaky door and a loose lamp and towel rail. Still, I’d happily come back.

I had a miserable stay. After the first room smelled of mothballs, I moved to another, where a faint but foul carpet smell bothered me all night. Barking dogs and a donkey kept me awake too, and in the morning there was no running water in the bathroom. The furniture was ugly, and the red carpet looked dirty and as if it had never been vacuumed.

The views were nice and it was quiet, but the place felt a bit shabby and poor value for the money. For food and drinks, agree on the prices beforehand and steer clear of the “no menu card available” trick.
