Riad Dar El Malaika

The staff were genuinely kind and professional, and our stay here turned what could have been a hellish experience into a peaceful one. We’d chosen another place first, which was a big mistake, and luckily a room opened up here. The rooms are spacious and beautifully equipped, though maybe a little over the top in a way that suits the location. Don’t let that put you off, as it nearly did us. Some rooms have a kitchen, and I’d suggest getting one. They only serve breakfast, and restaurants in town are limited, expensive for the quality, and just not good. Make use of the local market or take a taxi to the carre four market. If you’re staying more than a little while, you’ll probably want to make your own meals instead of eating out. Trust me. 😉

Breakfast by a real fireplace, with beautiful music and a lovely atmosphere, felt wonderfully luxurious. We also really enjoyed the room: beautifully decorated, not big, but just right for what we needed. The beds were comfortable and the bath was superb. At check-in we were welcomed warmly with tea and little snacks. The Riad is close to the beach, so we took an evening walk around the neighbourhood and had a nice dinner at a restaurant Walid the receptionist recommended. We had a wonderful one-night stay and would highly recommend this place, especially for couples.

Our room was ready when we arrived, thanks to the attentive staff, and we really enjoyed the generous breakfast spread. The riad and its common areas are beautifully decorated. It’s right in the middle of El Jadida, within walking distance of the cistern. The road is pedestrian-only, but contact the hotel before you arrive and they’ll tell you where to park.

The location is close to the ancient medina and the port, where travelers can explore. Every detail inside is astonishing, you can hardly believe your eyes. The service was caring and kind too. We heard about the place’s history, got shown other rooms, had a delicious breakfast by the fire, and tea in the lobby by the patio. 20/10!
