The receptionist greeted me warmly and was kind. I had a very good stay.

There was always hot water and the pressure was good, and the surroundings were clean. Staff were friendly too. The hotel was otherwise very nice and quiet, though the school on the north side brought the usual schoolyard noise, and at night a rather nutty dog seemed to guard the property.

We booked two rooms for our group, and both bathrooms had doors that were impossible to open. There was nowhere to store our things, the room Wi-Fi didn’t work, and the number on the key was unreadable. One toilet wouldn’t flush and a hairdryer was broken. The showers had no curtains or screens, one room had very poor lighting, and the outlets were so small we had to push hard to fit a charger. Other people in our group ran into similar problems. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The pool and the area around it were clean and tidy, and there’s a nice lounge with a sofa and table just up a short flight of steps. Two roof terraces were spacious and pleasant too, though they could use fresh paint and perhaps some nicer lighting or plants. The hotel is a short walk from the beach, where there were lots of camel and horse rides available. Our favourite bar was called beach and friend. We stayed for a week in July, and the place was average to good. The people running it were always smiling, friendly, and helpful. They even gave us breakfast free after the first day, which was very kind. There’s no air conditioning, and the decor feels tired and could do with refreshing. Most room balconies were tiny. They had a table and two chairs, but left little or no room to move around.
