The stairs are worth knowing about before you book. It's a tall building with no elevator, and our room was on the top floor. There didn't seem to be any rooms downstairs, so it may not suit someone with mobility issues. The staff carried our bags up, though, and were friendly and helpful with restaurant recommendations. The location made it easy to walk around Essaouira, including to the Medina and restaurants in about three minutes, and the beach was accessible too. Our room, number 7, had a king and a twin, which worked well for us and our adult daughter. I liked having the toilet separate from the sink and shower, and the windows opened for fresh air and light. Nice view, too. Breakfast was included, and the coffee was the best we had in Morocco. The shared area felt comfortable and inviting.

We found a great pizza and pasta place about 25 metres away, with eat-in or takeaway, handy after a long day touring. The Riad is peaceful, tasteful, and immaculately clean, just a few minutes' walk from easy, cheap parking at Bab Marrakech (€14 for two days and nights). Staff, especially Hamza, were faultless on WhatsApp from the moment I booked. Book direct by phone to save 15% compared with Booking.com.

Such a lovely atmosphere, with kind people and amazing hospitality. This riad is quiet while still being centrally located in Essaouira's old town, and it was super easy to reach. We'd highly recommend a visit if you're in town.

The rooms are adequate, and breakfast was one of the better included ones we had in Morocco. There's a mosque very close by, though it never woke us. The staff were really helpful with questions and anything we needed. The location is handy for the places you'd want to see in the medina. They can also arrange for a guy with a trolley to take your bags to a taxi when you leave.

We stayed in low season and it was very quiet. The atmosphere made this feel like a refuge we could call home, even when the streets outside looked scary. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful, and the two rooms we had were lovely, with local decor and windows. Some rooms only have interior windows, so ask for one with an outside window if you can. They replied to emails promptly and arranged transport to and from Marrakech airport. Thanks for a good stay.
