The campfire music and drumming with Boss Sanmao was fun, and he was always smiling, efficient, and provided good service. Camel riding in the sahara desert gave me some of the best memories of my life. Xiaoming (fb Xiaoming travel the world), our tour leader and photographer, took beautiful photos. I joined the travel agency Yige Luren square Traveller (fbpage). The campsite was also a great place to watch the sunrise, sunset, and Milky Way.

We had a large, spotless room with a private bathroom big enough for three people. The breakfast was excellent as well. The riad is tucked just inside the medina of Essaouira, far enough from the main road to stay very quiet. The staff were always attentive and ready to help. Kahlil deserves special thanks for all the useful tips.

The riad sits in the heart of the Essaouira medina, a lively and pleasant city, and has a lovely terrace. It's easy to get to and very well located. The place feels distinctive, with windows opening onto the interior. There's a modern bathroom and a well-equipped kitchen, though both the riad and its facilities could use updating.
