The location is good, on the edge of the medina, but the building was so cold in winter that it wasn't comfortable to spend time indoors. There was no heating, so working there wasn't possible. Most rooms also lacked basic conveniences like lockable storage, personal storage, and hooks for a jacket.

The building has lovely architecture and high ceilings that give it a royal feel, and the breakfast was tasty. Rooms were clean and well equipped, with spacious, well-maintained bathrooms. The price was very affordable, and the staff were welcoming and helpful throughout. The lockers were handy, just remember to bring your own padlock. Guests unfortunately can't use the kitchen. The location felt a little closer to Bab Jdid than Bab Rcif when heading out for a walk. Being in Morocco is a good excuse to try the street food, though. I had a great stay at Funky Fes Hostel.

My double en-suite room was up on the terrace, and it smelled horribly of the bathroom. There wasn't even a bathroom door. Watch out for scammers near the hotel, especially the man with glasses who speaks better English. I do want to thank Tim, the volunteer at reception, for the support and help.

I stayed 3 days here and it felt like the best week ever. The people were so nice, and the hospitality made me feel really good. Free Wi-Fi and Free Breakfast too. I can't really put into words how much I enjoyed it.

We felt very welcome, and there was plenty of room to relax. It's really cheap, so don't expect a luxurious hostel, but we enjoyed our stay. The dinner we booked one evening was very good, everything was clean, and the rooftop is amazing.
