We spent two nights at Riad 9 and wished we could have stayed longer. We’ll be back. Atika was always available, quick to answer questions, and such a wonderful hostess. She cooked at least half of our breakfast fresh and made the best tea of our whole trip, even better than in Casablanca, Fez, or Marrakesh. It was free, too. The riad is right in the heart of the old Medina, and the architecture is gorgeous. Our room was comfortable, very quiet, and had its own heat pump and air conditioning unit. A couple of things to know about the rooms: Room #1 has no bathroom inside it. The large bathroom is down the hall, shared with the rest of the riad, though it has a lock. Room #2 has its own bathroom, but there’s no door separating it from the bedroom. I can imagine people sharing that room might prefer to use the common bathroom for "number twos" to avoid stinking up their room. Tazi was another MVP. He drove us to and from the Fez train station and knew a lot about Fez and other Moroccan cities. We asked him about Marrakesh, our next stop, and later plans for Tangier, Rabat, and elsewhere.

Atika was wonderful during our stay at the Riad, and her advice on things to see and do in Fes was excellent. The rooftop terrace has an amazing view. The riad itself is a unique, historic place, with authentic decor that feels centuries old.

Atika was a wonderful, friendly host, and her delicious breakfasts each morning were a real highlight. She arranged transport for our day trips and the airport, set up a walking tour, and suggested places for dinner. The rooms are gorgeous, too. I can’t recommend this place enough. She really made the trip for us!

Atika made us feel cared for and welcome from the moment we arrived until we left. She was generous, knew so much, and was a huge help with our trip. Breakfast on the rooftop was delicious, and the bedrooms were beautifully decorated. Riad 9 is a cosy, authentic Moroccan retreat just a stone's throw from the bustle of medina life. We were so glad we found it. Thank you for such an enjoyable stay. We can't recommend Riad9 and the amazing Atika enough! X
