Riad Al Fassia Palace

We were woken at night by the call to prayer, which isn’t the hotel’s fault, so ear plugs might be a good idea. We also didn’t like staying out too late after dark, since the hotel is tucked among the Medina’s warrens and alleys. Still, the place is stunning. We gasped when we walked in, and the owners were so attentive and helpful that we’d happily come back. We loved breakfast too, and the staff carried our luggage through the streets when we left.

After exploring the lively streets of Fez, it was lovely to return to the quiet of the Riad. The staff were friendly and gave me personal attention that made me feel at home. My room was beautifully decorated, and I could relax in the peaceful courtyard or take in the panoramic city views from the rooftop. Each morning began with a delicious Moroccan breakfast. Right in the heart of the medina, Riad Al Fassia Palace brings together traditional Moroccan charm and modern luxury. I had a magical stay and highly recommend it.

Karima and her family made the trip feel like home. I was a young solo traveller on my first trip away from my family, and one morning when I came downstairs early, they let me share breakfast with them. That meant so much. Karima still checks in on me even a month after my stay. I ended up staying a few extra days after my group left because her service was so good. She and her family were absolutely amazing, and her smile and filling breakfasts were a lovely start to each day. Her son and nephew would take us wherever we wanted in the Medina so we wouldn’t get lost. Even when I just wanted a copper cup, they found a good shop and helped us bargain for a fair price. The heaters kept our room warm during our winter visit, unlike other riads I’ve stayed in. I could say much more about their hospitality, but I’ll leave it there. I wholeheartedly recommend Karima’s home in Morocco. I left feeling like I’d gained a second family.

We’d already booked another hotel, otherwise we would have stayed here. My friend and I hadn’t booked a room at this riad, but wanted to see the rooftop and city view. The hostess was so welcoming that she showed us the beautiful rooms, told us a little about Fez, and brought us coffee while we looked out from the terrace.
