Riad Dar Cordoba

We booked Riad Dar Cordoba about five months ahead, then had to change our travel dates because of the war situation in the Middle East. Over the last three months, we contacted the riad several times to ask about moving the booking. Every time, whatever dates we suggested, they said they were “fully booked.” We called the numbers listed online and on Booking, but no one answered. Our emails to the official riad address got no reply, and our messages were ignored. At 00:00 on 6 May, they finally wrote to say they couldn’t accept the request because it was a “last minute change.” That wasn’t true, since we’d been trying to arrange it for months. They kept around 760 euros from our reservation. We even sent someone to the riad in person to check availability and were told it was full with other guests. It felt like they refused to help us, kept our money, and sold the rooms to someone else. I have screenshots showing dates were open for new bookings while our group’s requests to change dates were repeatedly turned down. The lack of communication and customer support was the most disappointing part. If you need help, have an emergency, or need to change plans, don’t expect a reply by phone or email. This was a very disappointing experience with management and customer service. If I could, I’d give less than one star. I hope Booking.com can help us get a refund. Until then, I’d strongly suggest looking at other nearby riads with better communication and service.

The rooftop chats with Youssef were a lovely part of the stay. He was hospitable, friendly, and accommodating. The riad was really nice, and our comfortable room was cleaned every day. Breakfast changed a little each day, always had fresh fruit, and you could ask for eggs, scrambled eggs, or an omelette. We could keep our own things in the fridge and were even welcome to use the kitchen, for example to make coffee during the day. Definitely recommend!

Moha and Youssef looked after us so well, and the Riad was beautiful and very clean. The location was great too. I asked them to arrange a little Medina tour, the Hammam, and a one day trip in Rabat, and everything went excellently. For a visit to Fés and the Medina, I recommend asking Mohamed H. to be your guide. He’s very professional and speaks Japanese among the languages he knows. He’ll show you important places and shops without making you feel pressured to buy. Highly recommended!

Yousaeff was especially kind and helpful, and his warm hospitality made the riad feel like home. The interior was beautiful, and the rooms were so spacious. This is the best riad we’ve stayed in. Thank you, Riad Dar Cordoba, for being such a big part of our time in Fes ☺️
