Karim is a witty, worldly host and made our two-night visit with my son really enjoyable. The hostel has been restored with a lot of charm, and he's still working on improving the rooms. Its setting deep inside the Old Medina feels genuinely local.

The terrace overlooking the medina is lovely and gives the place a great atmosphere. The administrator was the real highlight, though: attentive, polite, and professional. He sent clear directions ahead of time, met me, and was always ready to help. The hostel was clean, but the furniture and interior are quite dated and could use renovation.

When the trains to Rabat were cancelled on the day I was leaving Fes, the host quickly arranged for his friend to drive me there in his own car. I'm incredibly grateful. Said was a lovely guy with great vibes, and always made sure breakfast was ready on time. He even gave me medicine for free when I got sick in Fes. The rooms aren't anything special, but that's what you get in Morocco at this price. The common area was a nice place to relax and chat with people.

Karim is a gem, friendly, quick to respond, and full of knowledge about the medina. I stayed in a small private room that was perfectly adequate, and met lots of interesting travelers. It was a great-value place to stay in Fes, and I had a great few days here.

The rooftop has a fantastic view, and the rooms are tidy and clean. Getting there can be tricky, so watch out for people who try to guide you and scam you. If you search carefully, you can find the hostel on Google Maps.
