Algilà Fes Riad Medina Charme Hotel Spa

Hassan and Yousef looked after all our needs so warmly and went above and beyond. The traditional breakfast was fantastic, and the service was just as good. We had a suite to ourselves in this charming Riad, tucked in the Medina near the Souks. It’s about a five-minute walk from the edge of the Medina. Highly recommend.

We had a lovely three-day stay at the Algilà Fes Riad Medina Charme Hotel. Of the Riads we visited during our ten days in Morocco, this was one of the most beautiful, and the staff gave us some of the best Moroccan hospitality we experienced. The included breakfasts were generous and delicious, with fresh fruit, yogurt, several breads and jams, and omelettes made to order. Hassan, Khadija, and Youseff were friendly and attentive, and helped with directions, restaurant advice, and tips for the Medina’s historic and cultural sites. They speak several languages, so communication in English was easy for us. That hadn’t been true at the Riad where we stayed in Marrakech. The rooms pair intricate Moroccan touches like ceramic tile, woven textiles, and brass fixtures with up to date technology. For anyone visiting Fes for the first time, a heads up: strangers may offer help when they see you following Google map directions on your phone, then ask for money, sometimes quite aggressively. A loud, repeated “No merci” usually does the trick.

Hassan, Siham, and Youssef made us feel welcome throughout our stay. They were all friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was delicious and nicely prepared. We really enjoyed the warm hospitality and had a lovely, comfortable time at this wonderful riad.

The staff really made this stay. They were amazing, helpful, and kindly took care of our requests. Their restaurant and excursion suggestions were great too. We had a flawless experience, with a beautiful, comfortable room and a great breakfast.
