Riad Diamant De Fes

We arranged our trips locally, and this was a good place to do that. The advice was useful, there were options to choose from, no pushy convincing like some reviews suggest, and the experiences matched what we expected and agreed on. The food was really good and reasonably priced. We had a wonderful lunch on day one, a nice take-out breakfast before an early tour on day two, and the breakfast at the riad is a dream: fresh fruit, coffee or tea, juices, bread, olives, and egg or omelette by request. A few days before departure, Ibrahim got in touch with tips and asked what we needed. He arranged reasonably priced transport from the Witt port and picked us up himself. On the way to the riad, he gave us a mini tour with some history and tips for finding our way through the Medina’s 900+ streets. The riad is clean and comfortable. We were on the top floor, so there were quite a few stairs, though lower floor rooms are available for anyone who has trouble with stairs. The roof terrace, breakfast room, and reception have a warm, pleasant feel. There was a slight smell in the bathroom when we arrived, but airing it out fixed that. Highly recommended when staying in Fez!

The Medina sits on a big hill, so the Riad’s position matters if you want to avoid lots of uphill walking. This one is on a quiet street, conveniently placed for the Blue Gate, the Tanneries, restaurants, and shops. Ibrahim gave us useful advice at check-in about finding our way around. Ibrahim and Mustafa were very accommodating. Mustafa met us on foot at a convenient spot and walked us the five minutes to the Riad, which you have to reach on foot. They did our laundry for a reasonable price, and when a small issue came up, they fixed it right away. We appreciated the staff and would happily stay again.

The room was spacious and clean, the riad was decorated with lovely colors and traditional details, and breakfast was generous and delicious. Its central location made it a great base for exploring Fes’s narrow streets. Said was helpful from our arrival in Fes through our departure, kindly walking with us to and from the parking area. Check-in was quick and smooth, and he explained the city clearly with a map. We’d booked two nights but had to cut our stay to one, and he was supportive, accommodating, and focused on finding a solution throughout. We were very satisfied with everything. The family running this hotel were kind, attentive, respectful, friendly, and very helpful. We stayed for two nights, and on the first evening they upgraded our room, which made us feel special. The place was clean, and breakfast was generous and delicious. It made our time in Fez wonderful, and we’ll definitely come back.
