The breakfast was ok, and the staff were kind and quick to help whenever we asked. Still, once we arrived, we found that some of the information we’d been given was incomplete. The suggested parking cost twice as much as we expected, the dinner we booked was to be served at a different riad and no menu was provided, and our bedroom wasn’t ready when we arrived around 10 pm, even though we’d kept the staff informed of our arrival time. It’s a good base for the old medina, close to its main road and away from the chaos. Finding it the first time can be tricky because it’s tucked down a couple of narrow streets. We arrived by car, but I guess the staff could collect you from a meeting point if you asked. Some bedrooms are elegant and feel typical, while others seem to have had less attention. That was our general impression of the riad: the shared spaces and the place as a whole could use more care and maintenance. It’s worth the price if you choose a nice room or only stay a short time.

We arrived after midnight, past the official 11 pm check-in time, but the staff waited for us and met us at the medina entrance to guide us to the hotel. On checkout day, they also made an early takeaway breakfast for us. They were professional, attentive, and very kind throughout. The room looked like the photos. It was a bit cold at night, but the heating sorted that out easily. The location is excellent, just steps from the Blue Gate, which made exploring the medina easy. We also enjoyed the hammam and massage package, thanks to the friendly, professional therapists. Highly recommended.

The staff were always there to help with anything we needed, but the rooms we got were old and I felt pretty dirty throughout my stay in them. I also saw too many cockroaches, which made the stay even worse. The little “swimming” pool felt fresh, but after seeing all the dirt I couldn’t bring myself to try it.

We came as a family of four just for the Hammam and booked the massage package. They were very attentive and even picked us up at the Blue Gate. They also offered to have all of us together in the same room. The scrub attendants did ask for a tip at the end, so have some cash ready. We’d recommend trying a Hammam in Morocco, it’ll totally renew your skin!

The rooftop view of the mountains is mesmerizing, though breakfast wasn’t the best, and I wonder how they manage when the place is full. The three staff who looked after us were amazing and made the stay memorable. The riad is beautiful and well managed, tucked among tall residential houses and other riads, with the medina and shops all around. The location felt perfect. We booked a quadruple and got a room right in front of the pool. The bathroom was clean and there were plenty of towels for 3 adults and a baby. On the downside, there wasn’t a single water bottle in the room, the kettle wasn’t in great condition, and we kept bumping our heads on the tricky glass entrance door, especially the toddler. A real hidden gem.
