It was 39°C in the daytime and 30°C at night, and the air conditioning wasn’t working. The hotel manager didn’t seem to understand why that was a problem and told us to open the windows onto the courtyard. That left us exposed to view while walking around or lying in bed, and the staff kept talking loudly late into the night. I didn’t sleep at all.

Our room was beautiful, the meals were tasty, and the staff couldn’t have been friendlier. Omar, Khalid and Hassan made the stay feel special and memorable. We loved being here and would happily return.

The food was a highlight, with delicious, high-quality Moroccan dishes and a really good breakfast. The staff also gave us all the information we needed. We came by taxi, and getting from the main road to the riad was easy with Google Maps. You can also ask the staff to meet you. I’d recommend the hammam massage too, the therapist was very skilled. Khalid was a lovely host and made sure we had everything we needed for a memorable trip. We had a great stay at Riad Said.

We were really happy at Riad Said. It’s a beautiful place, and our room was immaculate. The whole team was thoughtful and welcoming, especially Mohammed, who took great care of us. We enjoyed both breakfast and dinner, and the vegetarian choices and heat lamps were nice touches. If you’re keeping an eye on costs, though, the riad’s dining and hammam aren’t musts. There are good, more affordable options around the medina.

The hammam was great, and I loved relaxing on the rooftop. Riad said is lavishly decorated and accommodating, with tall ceilings that make staying there feel like an experience. There was a slight sewage smell, as others have mentioned, but some pleasant scents helped us avoid it. I thought water, dinner, and hammam prices were high, even by Western standards. Given the room rate, I expected more amenities; hotels at similar prices in Europe often include meals or drinks. Tipping shouldn’t feel expected at a hotel like this, and it’s easy to get the impression that the owner takes most of what guests pay for extras like the hammam. Jamie
