Leila and Mohammed were lovely and incredibly helpful, and the rest of the staff were friendly too. The rooms are comfortable and beautifully decorated, and breakfast was generous and tasty. The riad sits inside the Medina, which makes exploring easy, though finding it alone can be tricky because Google Maps doesn't work well there. Be sure to ask for directions.

Laila really made our stay better. She greeted us warmly, was so friendly, and shared useful tips for getting around the city. The units were spacious and clean, breakfast was good, and we felt safe the whole time. The location worked well too.

We loved the interior, from the shared spaces to our room, especially the furniture and overall style. It gave the place a fairy-tale feel, like stepping into 1001 nights. The location is handy too, very close to the main market streets in the old medina of Fès. Leïla and Mohammed looked after us most of the time. They were open, genuinely friendly, and had lots of interesting things to tell us about the country, its history, and culture. We also asked the hotel about a medina tour. Anouar, the manager, is an official guide, and we really enjoyed the way he introduced us to the medina. A great place to stay.

Breakfast was my favourite part, and I looked forward to it every morning. The internet was out for almost a full day while we were there. The building is very old, and staying in it was amazing. The stairs, kitchen, dining area, and balcony were all wonderful, and the architecture speaks for itself. We had a third-floor room, though, so pack light if you can. The stairs are narrow and steep. Room and bathroom cleanliness stood out as areas needing attention, especially in winter. We struggled with the air conditioning while trying to get the temperature right, and the room kept going between hot and cold. The restroom wasn't heated, so we had to warm the room before showering. One more practical tip: ask the owner or your driver to arrange someone to bring your luggage on a cart from the gate to the riad. Those uneven bricks can add a few years to your suitcase.
