I’m sorry to write this, but honestly I wouldn’t recommend the place and would never stay there again. Seeing all the other reviews, my wife and I decided to give it a try. There are so many five-star reviews that I can’t understand how anyone could give this disgusting place that rating. The rooms were falling apart, from the bathroom cabinets to the wall tiles, and the kitchen looked absolutely disgusting. In the first-floor suite, the manager insisted the air conditioner worked, but it kept shutting off and never cooled the room. We were moved all the way to the top floor, where the AC did work but couldn’t be adjusted. It was either blowing cold air at full fan or turning itself off, so I spent the night getting up to switch it on and off. If this were in Europe or America, I don’t think it would even be allowed to stay open.

Samir gave us great local suggestions, and his tour of Fes was awesome. Fatima made a delicious breakfast every morning, while Otman was there with tea whenever we returned to the riad in the evening. The place was absolutely majestic, and literally everything about our stay was perfect. One of our favourite places in Morocco!

Samir, the hotel manager, helped us map out a day in Fes with a route to the best-known sights. The next morning he and Fatima prepared a wonderful breakfast for us. We had a great time from the moment we arrived after booking through Airbnb. Otmane welcomed us with tea and biscuits and showed us to our room. The service was lovely, and they even offered to clean the room every day. Probably the best Airbnb stay I’ve had so far.

For a fair price, this is a lovely place in Fes old town, near the edge of the medina and easy to get to. The first-floor suite was spacious and beautiful, with a comfortable bed, and the service made us feel at home right away. There was a slight smell from the bathroom water, and the bathroom has no window of its own. Opening the room window aired it out easily. Don’t miss tea on the roof, the view is great.

We booked the trip to Merzouga camp through the riad, and it was arranged perfectly. We were really well looked after, and I’d definitely recommend staying here. Samir was very involved, checking whether we were happy and needed anything. Otmane made great dinners, tea, and breakfasts, and thanks to Fatima the room was clean, comfortable, and beautiful. In a couple of minutes on foot you’re in the Medina center, with great restaurants.
