The hotel is in a very safe area. I felt fine walking alone in the middle of the night, and decent places to eat are within walking distance. There’s also a Carefour supermarket four minutes away. The airport is about a 15-20 minute drive, and the YSL Museum & Jardin Marjole, Koutubia Mosque, Bhaia Palace, and Jama al Finna are all roughly 10-15 minutes by car. The pool is a decent size for adults and kids, clean, and refreshingly cold. Be careful in the adult pool, though: it’s marked 180cm deep but was over 190cm. I’m 187cm and could easily have drowned in the middle. If you’re not an expert swimmer, stick to the sides. The hotel is fairly old, so the rooms are old too, but they’re decent in size and serviceable. Each has its own balcony, which is great, though the bathrooms need upgrading. It’s on a main road, so expect some traffic and public noise. Reception and housekeeping staff were brilliant, professional, helpful, polite, and multilingual. There’s a buffet for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We mostly ate out, so I can’t comment on the food, but the traditional Moroccan mint tea we tried was great. There’s no tea or coffee station in the room. It’s a decent hotel, but don’t expect the amenities of a 5* place. You get what you pay for, and based on my experience £30 a night was reasonable. The room was warm and bright, which we appreciated after previous places in Morocco that were dark and cold. It was comfortable and good value for money. The staff were very kind, and breakfast was fine.

The noise from prayers was irritating at times, and one started at 4am. The rooms looked average, the TV didn’t work, and the shower was disappointing: low pressure, a head that was too low, and the top shower head didn’t work. Breakfast had hardly any choices, and most of what was available tasted terrible. Dinner was below average, too. On the second day, the dinner buffet wasn’t open, and they brought each guest one starter, one main, and one dessert. Worst hotel I’ve ever visited. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
