Loved this place, especially zaynab and the owner, who were so accommodating and helpful. It’s absolutely kid-friendly. We came with two kids and a lot of suitcases, and they realized our room would be tiny for us. When a suite became available the next day, they upgraded us for free. Breakfast on the rooftop was complimentary every day, and they’ll make fresh eggs or an omelette. Ask for hot water, an iron or garbage bags, and they’ll bring them straight to your room. The hamam and spa are reasonably priced, but you need to ask a day ahead. It wasn’t available when I asked that same day, and I’d really been looking forward to it. You’re in the middle of the souks, five minutes on foot from jema el fena and 10 minutes from bahia palace. I wish I’d known cars can’t enter the medina, so ask your taxi to drop you at jema el fena. It’s a 5-10 minute walk from there, and guys with trolleys at jema el fena will take your luggage for a small fee. There’s live music during dinner in the evening, but the walls are thick enough that you can’t hear outside sounds. There’s a beautiful rooftop, too.

We had breakfast on the rooftop, where the birds chirping made for a peaceful start to the day. The Riad itself is beautiful, and the rooms and bathrooms are so pretty. We also ate at the Riad’s restaurant, where the service was great, the staff were very polite and kind, and the live music was nice to hear and see. We landed in the morning, unsure whether we could check in, but the welcoming staff let us in. They served us fresh morocco mint tea with savouries, and the hospitality was amazing. The riad is right in the centre of the old madina, about a five-minute walk from the centre and the soukes. Everyone was kind, helpful and hardworking. Anwar especially stood out: he worked late and accommodated early breakfasts for us on the mornings we had to leave early.

The room was lovely, and the staff were wonderful. Breakfast felt a little basic, and the roof terrace where we ate looked a bit tired. That surprised me, especially for a Riad known for its restaurant and food. One other thing: the restaurant has fantastic live music, but the sound from the dining area might not suit some guests. We mostly enjoyed it, and having a restaurant in the Riad was convenient.

Our room was just right, with a traditional look and some nice details. Breakfast on the roof terrace was lovely each day, with fresh fruit, bread, eggs and juice. The staff were all friendly, helpful and ready to assist, and the lady at reception was first class, though I can’t remember her name. It’s just off the main square, a great base for exploring the Medina without being too close to all its madness. Highly recommend this Riad for a Marrakech trip.

The restaurant in the Riad may have been the best food we had in all of Morroco, highly recommend it. The location is great too, about a five-minute walk with a few turns from the main square, close to the action but quiet as well. Mohammed was terrific, and the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. We travelled with our 11 month old, and they did everything they could to help us. One thing for travellers: vehicles can only go so far into the Medina. After your taxi drops you off, luggage runners who aren’t affiliated with any Riads may offer to carry your bags for around 3-5 euros. Don’t be alarmed, everyone we met in Marrakesh was nice and welcoming.
