The house is clean, well maintained and thoughtfully designed, with a nicely kept garden and overall space. The caretakers were kind and attentive. Even so, I wouldn't recommend this Riad. There are more reasonably priced options nearby, or a hotel with better privacy, comfort and value. The worst moment was when four strangers entered without our consent and spent nearly an hour talking with the caretaker in one of the rooms. We were told they were the owner's sister and friends. It was a serious invasion of privacy and made us very uncomfortable. I also felt a little spooked and couldn't sleep the first night, and my husband felt similarly. The price didn't feel justified. For the same amount, I'd much rather have a five-star hotel with more privacy and amenities. The approach road and location felt inconvenient and somewhat uncomfortable. We didn't feel we had privacy, since the house help was always around, and with no keys given to guests, we felt we had to return by a certain time and coordinate our movements with them. There was a kitchen, but we couldn't use it. Meal prices were excessive, around 300 per person for dinner, which seemed unreasonable, especially for vegetarians. We could easily have had a full meal for four outside for the same amount. Internet was spotty and failed in many parts of the house, and the beds were hard and uncomfortable. Although we'd booked the whole place, they closed off one room while we were sleeping in just two.

Abdou was a lovely host, relaxed, welcoming and always ready to help. He doesn't speak much English, though, so brush up on your French or Arabic. I wish I'd been able to get more of his local advice and knowledge. That's the only reason I'm not giving Amanza a ten. Still, this is a brilliant place. We booked through Guardian Offers, and looking back, it was ridiculously cheap for what we got. Coming in from a chaotic street full of markets and bustle, you step through Riad dar Amanza's door into a cool, calm and stylish oasis. Our room was more like a suite, really comfortable and so picturesque that it became an abiding memory of the holiday. The roof terrace was fabulous. A very healthy nine out of ten.

We had a wonderful stay here with a group of friends. It's very clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated, and in a great location in Marrakech. We also ate at the riad and had a delicious royal couscous. Abdou was fantastic, incredibly kind and always attentive to his guests. When I come back to Marrakech, I'll try to stay here again.

Abdou and Mariam looked after us from start to finish, with the kind of generosity and attention that made all the difference. The garden brought welcome cool during the hottest hours, and the poolside patio was great for evenings with friends. The riad has services including massages, meals, excursions and oriental entertainment, which can add a personal touch to a visit. It's right in the medina, near Jemaa el-Fna square and excellent restaurants. The contrast is lovely: after the busy souks, you step through the small door of Riad Dar Amanza into somewhere calm and refined, with a complete change of scenery. This exceptional riad made our Marrakech stay, and we'd recommend it without hesitation for experiencing the city differently.

We had a fantastic long weekend with friends at Riad Dar Amanza. We had the place exclusively from December 5th to 8th, 2025, for eight people. Many thanks to Abdou and Miriam for their dedication and five-star service.
