Dar Chibania

We spent three lovely nights in this fabulous Riad. It's in a quiet part of the Medina, with lots of lovely little nooks to unwind in after a busy day. The courtyards and roof terraces were fabulous, and breakfast was lovely too.

We stayed for three nights and wished we'd booked longer. There's so much to explore inside, from the characterful decor to all the little places to sit and relax. It feels spacious and full of stories, and the rooftop terrace is wonderful. Dinner was nice, and the staff were fantastic. It's a 15-20 minute walk from the main squares, but walking through the local market was a great experience. Getting luggage there was easy too, just a 2-3 minute walk from where the taxi drops you. It was a perfect location for us, with a real wow effect, and the place felt relaxing. Photos don't do its beauty justice. Highly recommend.

It felt very high end, and the atmosphere made me feel special and connected to Morocco's roots. An incredible experience.

We loved the peaceful atmosphere and the staff's kindness. They were warm, attentive, and eager to help. The French owners even carried our luggage to the taxi because we had booked directly through the Riad. Otherwise, we'd have needed to carry everything ourselves for about five minutes, which could be hard with lots of bags. The Riad is spacious and stunning, with beautiful, intricate decor, though our tastefully furnished room had a noticeable musty smell. It's about a 30-minute walk to the main square. We enjoyed seeing a quieter side of Marrakech on the way there, but got lost coming back, even though I usually have a good sense of direction. First-time visitors may find the area overwhelming, so I think it's better suited to people who know Marrakech already. We had a delicious home-cooked dinner at the Riad, but it was chilly inside. The heating in the rooms worked only partly, and we often wore jackets indoors and outside during breakfast and dinner. The fireplace didn't warm the place much, and although there were heating lamps, they weren't turned on. It's a beautiful, quiet retreat with wonderful hospitality, but may not suit first-timers or people travelling in colder months. For experienced visitors who like a quieter setting, it could be a good fit.
