The food was really good, and aside from one issue, we genuinely enjoyed our stay. Most of the staff were kind and helpful. The hotel itself is beautiful, with an impressive building, ambience, and design. Our cozy, well-maintained room had a bathtub, and we were given a very nice room on arrival. The receptionist who checked us in was professional and welcoming. One staff member, possibly a manager or someone on the evening team, was rude and unhelpful whenever we asked for assistance. When we requested a plug adapter, housekeeping came but didn’t properly help, so we had to go out and get one ourselves. There was no clear response or ownership. That poor attitude at the front desk affected the overall experience. Customer service is the one area where this hotel needs serious improvement.

The hotel is excellent value and so central for exploring the city. The rooms and decor feel a bit old fashioned, but everything was clean and tidy. The staff were lovely, though the managers weren’t. One thing to know is that the hotel doesn’t serve alcohol. There are plenty of local bars that do, but you can’t bring your own drinks, even non-alcoholic ones, to the pool. You have to buy them at the bar. We still had a fab time, met some lovely guests and staff, and would visit again.

It’s in the newer part of town, with quieter, more modern shops and cafes close by. The walled city is still an easy walk away. Marrakech itself felt like a conundrum to me, with one foot in the old and the other in the new, and I liked getting the best of both worlds. The hotel had a 1940s feel, as if the lobby could be full of foreign correspondents smoking, drinking, and swapping stories. I loved it. A few parts were a little tired, but that added to the charm. Our room was big enough and very clean. The dining area was nice, and the one pizza we ate there was first class. We barely needed anything from the staff because everything was fine, but everyone we passed was friendly and polite. There’s a store right beside the hotel for snacks and supplies. I’d have no hesitation staying here again if I return to Marrakech.

This was my fourth stay, and even though the property is dated, I really love it. There are lots of places to eat within a few minutes’ walk, and the hotel food is great. My grandma has stomach issues and is vegetarian, and each evening the chef talked her through the best options. If she didn’t fancy them, he made her something else. Aziz is always a star, the hardest working pool guy you’ll meet. A few staff can be a bit abrupt, but they’re never rude. They work long shifts, too, so let’s not forget that.

We had a great stay in April 2026, booked through love holidays. Getting here from the airport was easy, and the staff were friendly. The excursions desk was helpful and knew their stuff. We had an amazing day quad biking, and the medina was good too, with friendly people. The spa is well worth a visit. The main downside is that the bar no longer serves alcohol. I booked in January 2026 and nothing mentioned this, so from the reviews it seems to be a recent change. Just around the corner, barometer is a little botanical cocktail bar with amazing drinks and really good food. There’s also a bar and restaurant across the road, and the staff at both places were welcoming. Be warned, the roads are a bit scary. People drive everywhere and it doesn’t seem to work by the same rules as back home in the UK.
