Domaine du Douar

The rooms were quite clean and the cleaners maintained them daily. Breakfast was included, with a choice of an omelette or eggs, plus different breads, honey, jam, butter, orange juice, and a pot of tea or coffee. Marrakech is about 30 minutes away, so the location isn’t great, but there’s a free shuttle that goes in the morning and returns at night. For the price, it’s a decent place to stay. Check-in took around 40 minutes, which I wasn’t happy about after travelling from the UK and arriving already tired. The staff were nice and accommodating, though.

The hotel, food, and service were amazing, and the staff were absolutely brilliant. The main drawback is how far it is from town. I knew the location before booking, but getting there is still difficult unless you book the hotel shuttle in advance. Without that, you have to arrange your own ride, and no taxi wanted to come that far. The Medina is a 30-minute drive away. The WiFi wasn’t great either. It often disconnected me, leaving me without internet access for a few minutes.

It’s in a douar, peaceful and seemingly in the middle of nowhere. We woke to birdsong, and the rooms were spacious and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious, with plenty of traditional options. Thanks to Touria for the scrambled eggs! It’s quite far from the center, at least a 30-minute drive.

Beautiful surroundings, friendly staff, and great service and hospitality. It’s not far from town. A wonderful place for a quality getaway, whether you’re traveling as a family or as a couple. I highly recommend it.
