Riad Challa Restaurant Bar & Spa

The staff were pretty helpful and the service was good. The room was fine, nothing special, but you could hear everything, and I suspect the rooms are all like that. If you want a window in your room, I don't think this riad has windows, though you can contact them to ask. I didn't have breakfast, so I can't comment on it. Seems okay for a short stay.

The constant pressure to buy extras made it feel as if we were being pushed to spend more instead of being cared for as guests. Staff repeatedly tried to sell excursions and spa treatments in an aggressive way. The stay was also extremely expensive, closer to five-star hotel prices, which felt completely out of proportion to the riad's quality and facilities. This was my second visit to Morocco, and I've never had such bad accommodation. From the moment we arrived, things were disappointing. The rooms were tiny, uncomfortable, and poorly maintained. The TV had no remote, and the AC remote had no batteries, so it didn't work. The street leading to the riad felt unsafe, especially at night, and the area didn't feel welcoming. Tiny rooms, poor facilities, an uncomfortable location, and constant upselling made the stay very unpleasant. I'd strongly advise future travelers to avoid Riad Challa and pick somewhere else in Marrakesh.

The riad is very central, with a lovely interior and wonderful staff. We stayed two nights in two separate rooms, and one of them was mouldy. The problems were all resolved.

I'm not sure where to start. The listing said there was parking and that this was four-star accommodation. We paid online, but after arriving it took us about an hour and a half to park before we could check in. They put us in a room by the swimming pool that smelled of cockroach spray. We complained, but they denied it was insect-killing spray, even though we knew that smell. They moved us to another room, where there was a cockroach (see picture) and the bathroom was broken. At breakfast, even the tea was cold, so you can imagine how the rest was.
