Hostel Mamma Africa

The beds and pillows were surprisingly comfortable, and my family and I loved them. Breakfast was really good, and the people at the hostel were nice, friendly and helpful. Hostel mamma Africa was good value, a cheerful, inexpensive place close to the medina and everything else. It's on Jbel lakhdar road, exactly where we wanted to be, just an 8-minute walk from Djamaa el fnaa.

The place is amazing and close to Jamaa el Fna. The owner is such a kind soul. Don't hesitate ❤

The room was awful: stained sofas and bedspread, a poorly swept floor and a strong damp smell. We hadn't known the shower was shared, and without a shower tray it felt disgusting. The lobby was dark and gloomy, and the place was so hidden that we had to ask for help finding it. The woman who greeted us spoke neither French nor English, so communication was difficult. We paid cash, then asked the couple, who spoke a little Spanish, for a refund. The man refused and demanded we find other guests before he'd return our money. We argued, but had to leave when things got heated. Terrible for cleanliness, location and service.

It's a simple, welcoming place, and the owner and staff are incredibly attentive. Ask them if you want advice about sightseeing or anything like that.
