Hotel Imperial Plaza

I booked through booking.com, but the payment was taken without a confirmation email from the third party. I went to the hotel to sort it out, but they couldn’t see my reservation and said I had to contact booking.com, whose only option was email and might take a while. I needed to leave my luggage and get to the stadium for Afcon, so I asked to take a room while sorting it out. The receptionist showed little care and said the only room left was a junior room costing £100 more. The way they kept saying they couldn’t help felt as if they assumed I couldn’t afford it. They then offered a room with no heating, even though Marrakesh was surprisingly cold. I wondered why they were pushing a faulty room instead of offering to reserve the junior room. I agreed to take the junior room, but they told me to reserve it on booking.com first and pay at the hotel. They insisted the booking might not go through otherwise. My booking included two people and breakfast, but the next morning they said breakfast wasn’t included and the room was for one. I was already late, so I didn’t argue much. I’d left a note asking them to clean the room, but when I returned late that evening to change for NYE, it hadn’t been touched. Some lights didn’t work, the old balcony doors wouldn’t close properly, and a broken jacuzzi was collecting dust out there. This was a junior suite in a four-star hotel. I went down to complain, but the two staff members were uncaring, said the cleaners had left, then spoke Arabic to each other. They did this often, so I couldn’t tell if they were talking about me. I didn’t want to sleep there that night and came back early in the morning to pack and leave. The room had a nice view and at first I was tempted to extend my stay, but after seeing the service I just wanted to go.

I had a wonderful stay. The staff were fantastic with people and willing to help whenever needed. I especially recommend Anal for her great way with guests.

Amal made my friend and me feel at home from the moment we arrived and looked after us so well. Everyone on staff was lovely and took care of our needs. The hotel was clean, with a lovely view of the Marrakesh architecture and nature. We had a lovely stay, thank you. I’d highly recommend it ❤️

The pool and its view were beautiful, and the hotel was really nice and clean. It’s a quiet area. The location is a little out of the way, but not too far, and I’d come back 😌💗
