Breakfast was just average, and I found the staff alright apart from some people at reception. We left early on the third day, and I wouldn’t come back. This was one of the worst hotels we’ve ever stayed in. The furniture was old and dirty, and everything seemed broken. When we arrived at 7 in the evening, the receptionist was arguing in Moroccan with a man beside her. She asked whether we had a booking, handed over some paperwork, then went back to the argument. The downstairs area was very dark and quiet for the holiday season. A man brought our luggage to the second floor, where it was so dark we could hardly see where we were going. The room itself looked clean, but later I slipped on a puddle from the leaking toilet. We asked to move. The next room still had bedding on the floor and smelled, so we refused it and asked for another. We had to go out for dinner, and it was already after 10. When we returned, we were sent to a third room. We were exhausted after the journey and disappointed. The air-conditioning there made noise but didn’t cool the room. It was past midnight, so we fell asleep. The next morning we asked for a different room or for the AC to be fixed. They moved us again, and that room was finally okay, though the toilet bidet bowl leaked when used, so we avoided it. On our second night, there was a fight on our floor between a woman and two men. She was screaming “No, no, no” in Arabic while one man tried to take her back into the room. There was nobody at reception, and our calls for help went unanswered. Another guest, a woman there with her 13-year-old daughter for five nights, told me that when she complained to one of the big bosses, he said she was there to enjoy the sun, should stay and enjoy Morocco, then go back to the UK. He asked why she’d come to their country if she had so many problems. She was crying and said she’d saved up to bring her daughter to Morocco during half term, only to get that response from management. The staff members working were polite and apologetic, but hotel management must be absolutely horrible. We went to Agadir the next day and had a great time. This hotel was a nightmare. Please don’t go.

My stay at this Hotel Marrakech Le Semiramis, Marrakech, Morocco was a real disappointment. The room felt gloomy because the lighting was so dim. The toilet facilities were uncomfortable and poorly maintained, and the Wi-Fi was so weak I could barely get online. Breakfast had hardly any choice and gave the impression they didn’t care about guests. There wasn’t even a glass in the room. I asked staff for one, but nobody brought it. I expected basic comfort and hospitality, but this place fell short in every way. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a pleasant, comfortable stay.

The swimming pool was well maintained, but I can’t think of much else to praise. The rooms were average, and the plugs and switches were damaged enough to pose an electrical hazard. The air conditioner made noise when switched on but didn’t blow cool air to bring down the heat. The TV was old and below average, and its remote didn’t work. Breakfast was okay, though they served the same things day after day with no surprises.

The hotel is closed. You show up and there’s no room for you. When you call your travel company, the hotel tells them it’s open and operating, but it isn’t. Big liars!

The staff were brilliant, and the hotel interior, gardens and pool were well kept. The price and those positives would make me stay again. But we had to change rooms twice because things were missing or the air-conditioning wasn’t working well. The rooms were very inconsistent, and they need to make sure they all have the amenities they say they provide.
