Palm Menara Hotel Marrakech

The rooms are spacious and kept clean, and the Swedish table breakfast was good. For the price, the hotel itself is impressive and we had a very nice stay, but the service let it down. We were sometimes left without toilet paper, our room card stopped working, and at reception the response was just “thank you” instead of an apology. We requested vegetarian takeaway breakfasts, but every sandwich came with ham. We were leaving later than most of the group, so two breakfasts should have been held back for us, yet reception knew nothing about it. The service staff made mistakes.

The rooms are roomy and attractive, with modern furniture and enough charging points for phones, cameras, and laptops. The buffet had plenty of fresh, tasty options, and the service was excellent, with polite, helpful staff. Outside the entrance, you can sit under cover with a good coffee and watch people pass by. It's a chic, modern hotel in a lovely spot, and I'd happily stay again.

My worst moment came at breakfast on the last morning. A stray cat got into the dining area. Staff chased it out, which I could understand, but one of them followed it and kicked it several times. When I stepped in and told him to stop, he said he wanted to kill the cat. The rooms are clean and nice, but the road noise gets through the windows, so bring good earplugs if you need quiet to sleep. They don't serve alcohol, so the advertised bar doesn't really mean much. There are five floors and a rooftop pool, but only one guest elevator, which you'll likely have to wait for.

My room faced a busy intersection, so it got noisy at times, but I actually enjoyed watching the cars, carriages, and bikes go by. Wi-Fi was fast in the room, lobby, and restaurant, and the staff across reception and dining were very helpful and accommodating. The hotel was very clean and had free parking too. From my own experience, it's better than most hotels I've stayed at in the USA and Europe. A great place to stay.
