The place is beautiful, but our two-night stay was a mess. We weren't given the deluxe room or apartment we'd booked. I wasn't feeling well, so we tried to make do with a small room, but it was January and freezing because the heating didn't work. They then moved us to another room where the heat worked, though it was quite small. Communication was difficult since nobody could speak English. Breakfast was very basic, and the next day we had no electricity for more than half the day, so we couldn't make coffee or anything else. The manager offered to move us to an apartment, but after having to repack and change rooms twice already, we refused. The power problems also meant spa services weren't available. Despite being a beautiful resort, it's run poorly. Whenever we asked for something, the only employee around would mumble and roll his eyes. I would never come back or recommend this place. Maybe the off-season was the issue, since there was a serious lack of staff and only us and one other family were there.

Hugo, the coordinator, was incredible, showing so much care and compassion. The service was impeccable, and the villa itself was wonderful. Everyone in the restaurant, spa, and housekeeping was kind and willing to help. Thank you all for such a beautiful space. It feels like a hidden gem, and if you're reading this, I'd stop comparing and book it. Pay now…

The restaurant serves excellent food, as good as anything in the city center, and the staff were fantastic. Sophia, who looked after breakfast and lunch, was a sweetheart and could not have been more helpful. They should double her pay. The place is gorgeous, with landscaped grounds behind walls and gates, villas around the edges, and a small four- or five-room hotel in the middle. We stayed in a clean, well-appointed Deluxe room with a little patio behind sliding doors. It's very peaceful. Nobody tries to sell you anything, and there are no tours, evening entertainment, kids clubs, or hassle. You can just get on with what you want to do. The main drawbacks were the terrible internet and the lack of a regular shuttle to the city or airport. It's a good 20-30 minute drive north of the city into the Palmery area, which is pretty barren, a bit like the Mars setting in that Matt Damon film about growing spuds. Would I come back? Hell yeah!

We came with a group of friends and booked three villas: one deluxe villa that was incredible, one four-bedroom villa with a private pool, and one three-bedroom villa with a private pool. They were all beautiful, and we could easily have stayed another week. Celine was amazing, always friendly and available to help throughout our stay. It's very quiet and peaceful, and Marrakech is a 20-minute drive away. Definitely recommend.

I spent four days at Dar Lamia with friends. I hadn't chosen the residence myself, so I arrived without many expectations, but I was amazed by the beautiful house we stayed in. It was huge, with each room having its own character, plus a living room big enough for ten people and a small private pool. The water was rather cold for me. The garden and shared swimming pool were beautiful and quiet, and the people and landlords were adorable. I didn't try the SPA. I wish I could live in this dream place forever, though I know it's only a dream. I'll definitely go back.
