A really good stay.

The rooms and facilities were clean, and having the beds made every day made everything comfortable. What stayed with me most was the kindness and generosity of the host couple. They kept checking that we were all right and showed real consideration. I was grateful for their restaurant tips, every place was wonderfully delicious, as well as their help planning our travels. It was a very satisfying stay!

The riad collapsed while we were staying there in March 2025. It had been damaged in an earlier earthquake, and that damage had not been repaired. It's unbelievable that the owner kept renting it out, knowing people could be in danger. Police and disaster relief staff arrived the night it collapsed; we learned from them about the structural defects, and they took the owner to the police station for questioning. The walk from the riad toward the Medina gives you a chance to see the REAL Marrakech. It feels daunting at first, but turns into a pleasant experience. Taxi drivers do have trouble finding the place, though, and the downstairs bedroom needs significant renovation. The space between the bed and wall is cramped and uncomfortable, and there's practically no privacy. We stayed for a week. Yves and Françoise were incredibly kind and helpful hosts, the price was quite competitive, and breakfast was generous. The freshly made crepes were a real treat.
