Riad Alma

The food was gorgeous, and breakfast was especially hard to leave behind. The Riad is stunning and perfectly placed, with staff who made us feel like family. My photos can’t capture it properly. If you’re staying in a Riad in Marrakech, this is the place. I loved every moment and was sad to go.

After the Medina’s busy streets, it was lovely to come back to this peaceful Riad tucked into a quiet corner. Breakfast in the courtyard beside the little plunge pool was a treat. Everyone was friendly, and Ahmed was especially helpful.

The roof terrace has a beautiful view of the Atlas Mountains, and breakfast was gorgeous. Our room and bathroom were clean, and all the staff were kind and helpful. It’s a comfortable walk to the old town, while being far enough from the centre to escape the bustle.

Ahmed’s help with our six excursions was invaluable. Each company had promised by email and text to collect us at the Riad, then changed the pickup to somewhere distant at the last minute. Ahmed spoke with the owners, managers, and drivers to get them to honor the agreed pickup times and places, and arrange our return. He’s one of the best managers and concierges I’ve met in years of travel. My wife and I chose Riad Alma for our 35th wedding anniversary trip to Morocco, partly for its charm and its Medina location near the palace. We stayed for 11 days, and Ahmed managed and looked after us throughout. Though it’s run as a hotel, the service feels very personal. After long, hot outings to the Atlas Mountains and the seaport of Essaouira, we appreciated the pool, dining areas, lounges, and rooftop views. The staff were wonderful with meals and other services, including the Hamman massage. Our room was lovely, the meals and cleaning were handled perfectly, and the laundry service was useful too.
