Riad Balkisse

The breakfast was lovely, and the Riad is just a short distance from the main square in Marrakesh. Everyone we met on staff was friendly and helpful. Fabulous place, highly recommend.

The warm welcome made my stay at Riad especially enjoyable. Filippo, the administrator, was kind and hospitable from the moment I arrived, and his attention and recommendations helped me feel at home. I’m grateful for his genuine care. I’d recommend Riad to anyone after a cozy, inviting place, and want to give Filippo a special thank you for looking after me so well.

Vita Morocco travel agency booked this for us and described it as one of the higher-end Riads. It felt outdated and very dark, and the humidity in every room was so high that I wasn’t sure it was safe to breathe the air. It didn’t match what I’d expect from a luxurious riad. The service was nice, though, especially from the man at reception.

The room looked nice, but it was too small and dark. The location was convenient, around a six-minute walk from Jamaa El Fnaa, while still far enough away to avoid the nighttime noise. Service was great. The staff were respectful and friendly, cleaned our room daily, brought fresh towels, and refilled the soap, shampoo, and shower gel. The main letdown was breakfast, which was very minimal and below average. I’d expected at least a small bottle of water and one or two pieces of fruit per person, plus some extra protein and a salad. The bathroom sink drained poorly. During a shower I had to pause for a couple of minutes to let it clear before continuing. We also saw a couple of small roaches in the bathroom.
