Riad Atlas

A typical riad, with nice rooms and a pleasant feel.

Nice place, cool vibe.

We arrived at the beginning of the year and were immediately told there had been booking issues and that everything was overbooked. Reviews on other sites suggest this may happen quite often. It was already late, and we didn't have the energy to find somewhere else, so we accepted their offer of a discounted one-night stay at a partner riad. The only room available was a drafty dorm with eight beds. We had it to ourselves, but it was nothing like the room we had booked. We wound up staying there for the next two nights as well. The room was cold and dark, the sample photos were very misleading, and it was hard to imagine when the blankets had last been washed. Staff were pushy and oddly overfriendly. Our stays elsewhere have been excellent, but this one wasn't.

The breakfast was spectacular, and the hostel felt peaceful from the moment we stepped inside. It's only a one-minute walk from Jemaa el-Fna, the city's main square. Khalid and Abdoul were especially kind and attentive to everything we needed. If you're booked at Riad La Caleche, don't worry, the places connect internally and are the same place.
