Riad Berbere Marrakech

The riad can be tricky to find the first time, so contact the hotel in advance for directions. Taxis can’t reach the entrance through the narrow alleyways, leaving about a 10-minute walk. We had a very pleasant stay. The riad is charming, newly renovated, and peaceful, with a warm atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the service stayed at a high level throughout. There was construction going on while we were there because the property was expanding, but it didn’t disturb us much.

I picked Riad Berbère for one of the biggest moments of my life, proposing to my girlfriend, and it couldn’t have been a better choice. The team was wonderful and attentive from start to finish. They helped me organize the proposal and generously moved us to a much better room than the one we’d booked, making the experience even more special. The riad is beautiful, peaceful, and perfectly located. I honestly can’t think of anything that could have been better. Thank you for welcoming us and helping create such an unforgettable memory. I can’t recommend it enough!

After midnight, we were locked out of the Riad for nearly 40 minutes. Guests inside couldn’t open the door either, and I was told staff had locked it. Other guests and neighbors had seen us on the cameras and heard us knocking. The 24/7 guard finally appeared after multiple neighbors called by WhatsApp and landline, neither of which we could get an answer on. The next morning, I was told he’d gone to get a sandwich. At first everything seemed to be going well. It’s a hands-off property with fairly nice, modern decor. But the Riad is in the center of the Medina, which feels dangerous at night, and being locked out made me question the hotel’s operation and safety. I can’t recommend it, and I hope no other guest has this experience.

Some places make you feel that nothing is too much trouble and nothing is missing. Here, the past has been left intact, quietly looking on as guests move through the place. There are birds, the fire crackles in winter, and traditional music accompanies dinner. The food was absolutely delicious. And special thanks to everyone on the Riad team, those I met and the more discreet members too. You made my stay truly enchanting.
