Riad Dantella

We were in a great central spot in the medina, easy to find, and the rooftop breakfast was lovely. It included Msemmen, baghir, honey, jam, marmalade, and cocoa powder, with fruit or yogurt sometimes, or one of the two. The interior was pretty too, with traditional lamps and throws. The room had several problems, though. Hot water lasted only about five minutes, and the tap was so loose I had to hold it down to turn it on for handwashing. The bed was very uncomfortable. The extractor fan didn’t work, and since the windows couldn’t be opened, the room stayed damp and our towels wouldn’t dry. There was nowhere to put our clothes at first, but a chest of drawers was brought in on the third or fourth day. Everything was close by, but getting around the medina could be tricky at night sometimes.

The traditional Moroccan breakfast was delicious, and the mint tea was just right. We felt looked after and comfortable throughout, thanks to everyone working there, who were welcoming, smiling, and attentive to what we needed. Samad was especially kind and helpful during our stay. The riad is beautiful and very well placed for seeing the city. We had a wonderful time and won’t forget it.

The place was nice and comfortable, and the location was good, though taxis don’t go into that area. A helpful staff member named Ahsan was the best part of our stay. They charged for everything, including very expensive airport taxi rides, and breakfast cost 7 euro but wasn’t worth it. We tried contacting the host, but replies were very slow, and there was no response on our last day.

The beds were comfortable, the rooms were clean and charming, and the WiFi worked perfectly. We loved having a delicious breakfast on the terrace each morning. Valerie welcomed us to this riad, right in the heart of the medina. It’s central but very quiet at night. The two women working there were incredibly kind, and Samad on the night shift was warm, attentive, and always ready to help.
