Riad dar ayur

For our first visit to Marrakech, this was a wonderful Riad. Abdel greeted us each time and was such a kind host. The room was cozy, breakfast was nice, and the location couldn’t be better. It’s beautiful, and I’m glad we supported a local family business. I’d stay here again next time we’re in Marrakech.

After a full day exploring Marrakech, Riad Dar Ayur is a peaceful place to recharge. Though market stalls and local vendors surround it, the riad feels like its own quiet island, with a central fountain and a relaxing rooftop. The spacious rooms have traditional ornaments and cultural objects that capture the city’s character. The staff help make the atmosphere feel safe and wholesome. They’ll serve breakfast at the time you choose, whether you want an early start or a lie in. When we arrived, they also talked us through nearby landmarks and sights and shared advice about tipping and prices, which felt essential for a tourist in Marrakech.

A brilliant spot for a few nights. Abdul is sweet, welcoming, and helpful, and the rooms are cleaned daily. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful. It’s in a great part of the Medina, very peaceful, and I slept really well. There’s also a lovely rooftop terrace to relax on.

The Medina can be lively, but this riad sits down a peaceful little alley, with the souks close by and Jema el Fnaa about a five-minute walk away. Inside, it feels like a calm oasis, with a lovely terrace and cozy rooms decorated in a traditional style with lots of care. One thing to keep in mind: the rooms aren't soundproof at all, especially the ones opening straight onto the ground-floor common areas, so light sleepers may want earplugs. Abdelkarim was warm, attentive, and available around the clock whenever we had a question. We'd happily book again and recommend it.
