Riad Dar Saad

The atmosphere and décor at Riad Dar Saad were the best we've experienced, elegant and calm, with plenty of character. The food was amazing, too. It's right in the heart of the Medina and just minutes from everything, while still being easy to get to. We stayed in two rooms. Kasbah was a beautiful two-bedroom unit with its own rooftop, and Gertoufa had exquisite design and a large, beautifully finished bathroom. Both were thoughtfully put together and immaculate. The staff were genuinely kind and attentive. Ayyub, Sam, Hannan, the waiting and service staff, and the reception team all made us feel welcome. They were especially lovely with our two young children, who adored them. The owner, Jean-Claude, was a pleasure to meet and regularly checked in to make sure things were going well. That personal care made a difference. Our stay was a highlight of Marrakech. We can't wait to come back and will book here again. Highly recommended.

The terrace was an oasis, full of plants and tucked-away spots, with a fantastic view. We loved sitting there. Back inside, the artist-owner's care shows in all the details, and the Riad has a beautiful, special atmosphere. In the evenings there was music, candles, and fireplaces to sit by. We loved the cuddly hotel cats, and ate at the restaurant a few times. The food was tasty and reasonably priced. The location was right in the middle of the action, but inside the hotel it was quiet, with lots of green spaces that made it feel like an oasis. Everything was super clean, the showers were hot and powerful, and the bed was really comfy. The staff were friendly and helpful, and every detail seemed thought through. We arranged our airport taxis through the hotel, which was easy and on time. Would definitely recommend it to anyone staying in Marrakech.

We enjoyed the peaceful feel of Riad dar Saad, and the staff were courteous and extremely helpful. It's a beautiful three-story building in the Medina, full of artwork and plants. The rooftop terrace and pool were lovely, with 360-degree views of Marrakech. Breakfast was excellent, with Moroccan pancakes, eggs, fruit, pastries, jam, and yogurt. The location is superb, and despite the room issues I'd still highly recommend staying here for the beauty, helpful staff, and calm away from the busy Medina. We stayed in the Hadja Room with our eight-month-old son. The room doors didn't open or close properly, which was annoying during our three-night visit. The old main air conditioner was noisy, sometimes waking us with sounds beyond the fan, and it was fussy to operate. Staff couldn't fix it during our short stay. The windows were old, single-pane, and didn't shut tightly. Cleaning staff often left them open, so mosquitoes and flies got in and had to be chased out before bed. There were also several cats wandering around. My wife and I are allergic to cat hair and kept sneezing the whole time, which was uncomfortable. We might have booked another riad if we'd known. Without these room and cat issues, I think the rating would have been excellent.
