The rooftop was peaceful and useful, though it could do with a little care. Riad Faraj is just around the corner from the souk and busy streets, which made the location great. Our rooms were beautiful and lavish, with thoughtful details, and breakfast was delicious, especially the msemmens. Nouhaila was a warm, welcoming host and the service was excellent.

The staff were VERY polite and VERY NICE, but the hotel itself feels badly managed and needs a lot of repairs. There was damage throughout, broken lights and fittings, a messy roof terrace, very old sheets, and a bed in poor condition that was painfully hard. A dog barked all night, too. At 60 euros a night, I think we would have been fine with it. We paid nearly 200€ per night, though, and for that price it was a very bad hotel. It should be labeled as a youth hostel, not a hotel.

The pool hall was the only part that looked decent. The rest of the place badly needs a refresh. We woke up to cockroaches, found dirty bedsheets that we had to change ourselves, used contact lenses and food on the bedside table, and boogers in the shower. There was no light in the toilets, no soap, and the internet didn't work. The man outside in the street waiting for parking payment was extremely aggressive, almost like a mafia boss. The poor receptionist couldn't help because there was no manager at the hotel for most of our stay. I've been to Morocco often and stayed in modest places as well as luxury ones, and this was the worst Riad experience I've had. How is this a FOUR STARS hotel? Definitely not recommended.

The workers were friendly, but service wasn't good for a 4-star hotel and they didn't seem to have had training. Only two of the four spoke English, so communication was difficult. We spent a week there without WIFI. Each day we asked when it would be fixed, and got the same answer: "It will probably work tomorrow".

We were sent by our travel agents for an all inclusive a la carte dinner, but the waiter never asked what we wanted. There was no menu, just a very scarce, mediocre dinner, and a bottle of red wine we hadn't been told we'd be charged for. We knew drinks were included, so I challenged the charge. The waiter tried to scam us, then got aggressive and shouted at me. When my mother, who is in her late 60s, wanted to go outside to smoke, another employee pushed me, a short woman, and blocked the door so we couldn't leave. Things got heated, and I saw the waiter calling to locals to gather around us. We were afraid for our safety and ended up paying the bribe, including the 50 euros he wanted for the wine. DO NOT GO HERE. It felt like a choice between getting scammed or mugged.
