Riad Green Lotus

The staff looked after our dietary needs at breakfast, and even when we had to head out early for a day trip and then the airport, they brought out coffee and fruit outside breakfast hours. That was very kind. We arrived to a warm welcome, had tea, and were shown to a clean room with lovely homey touches. We booked after reading the reviews, and they lived up to them. There’s a shared pool, plus shops and restaurants in the gated community. We stayed at Green Lotus and walked to the walled city many times, though a taxi is easy too. If you want an authentic riad stay with clean facilities and welcoming staff, we’d recommend it wholeheartedly. We loved our time here and would be glad to come back.

One thing to know about staying in a riad is that you can hear everything, so it may take some adjustment if you're used to a quiet hotel room. Even with that, I had a 10 out of 10 experience at Green Lotus and would definitely recommend it. The price was good, and it was easy to reach on foot or by car, unlike many riads. I chose the breakfast option and was very happy with it, and it was nice not to worry about finding my first meal. The owner and staff were welcoming and accommodating, and answered my questions kindly within 24 hours or less, both before and during the stay. They even did my laundry for free, which saved me money since I hadn't packed much. I'd been told there might be a small fee, but getting to a laundry by taxi plus the laundry cost would have been more. I loved almost everything here. I stayed in a riad because I felt it was a must-have Morocco experience, and I'd choose Green Lotus again if I return to Marrakesh.

The host family welcomed us with mint tea and biscuits, and our room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable, with a lovely roof terrace. They kindly arranged an airport pickup, and the Medina was just a five-minute taxi ride away. The riad is in a gated area with cafes, shops, and a restaurant, which felt handy and safe. It was relaxing to stay away from the bustle of the center. We'd recommend it to visitors to Marrakesh.

Abdel, the manager, made a real difference during my four nights here. He was attentive, kind, and always ready to help, whether I needed local suggestions or just wanted to chat over mint tea. Breakfast was tasty each day, too. The riad itself is clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated, a peaceful spot away from the lively medina. I felt at home from the moment I arrived and would gladly return. Highly recommend it for a stay in Marrakesh.
