The best part was the staff. Ali and the women working there were so helpful, kind, and thoughtful. Breakfast was delicious, with fruit and different choices each day. The riad is lovely and sits in a quiet part of the medina, so we had no noise at night, while still being in a great location. It also had heating and a hot shower for winter. Definitely the best place we could have stayed, and I'd recommend it to anyone.

The location worked well for exploring the medina, though it takes about 15 minutes to walk to the main square. It's on the other side of the medina, so I wouldn't choose it if I wanted to be in the middle of the action. Getting a taxi to leave quickly or return to the riad was also difficult. The room was basic but fine, with a bed, bedside tables, a table, and chairs. There were no glasses, but the host brought some as soon as we asked. The bathroom is cramped, with the shower beside the toilet, so everything gets wet. A curtain and some towel hooks would help. The bed linen was clean, though the floor and other surfaces could have been cleaner. There was no outside window, and we could notice the humidity despite decent air circulation. Our host was excellent. Since we arrived after dark, were new to Morocco, and the riad is tucked away in the old medina, we accepted his offer of an airport transfer for €20, about 200 DH. That felt expensive when the city bus to the medina costs 4 DH per person. He also gave us useful advice on food, places to visit, and practical things to know. Breakfast was a good, standard Moroccan riad breakfast. In January, the air conditioner heated the room well. The bed was very wide, with clean linen and comfortable mattresses. The pillows were higher than we're used to, but comfortable enough that we didn't need our travel pillows. Noise levels were normal for a riad, and quieter than some others we'd stayed in.

Ali was a welcoming, helpful host, and the airport pickup and return were easy and well organized. Riad Haj Thami is beautiful and comfortable. Highly recommended.

We loved the birds chirping in the corridor in the morning. Ali and the woman who made breakfast were wonderful and made us feel welcome. Our room was nice and clean, with a private bathroom and shower, and a comfy bed where we slept like babies. Breakfast was fresh and delicious too. We stayed for four days, and everything went well. Ali arranged our taxis to and from the airport, gave us a city map, welcomed us with evening tea, and shared tips for Marrakech. The town square is about a 15-minute walk away. We needed Google Maps at first, but by the last few days we knew the neighborhood. We'd definitely recommend this Riad. Thank you, Riad Haj Thami.
