The room smelled bad and was really unclean, and it didn’t look anything like the photos on Booking. Service was terrible. They ignored our complaints and wouldn’t cancel the reservation. This felt like an outright scam.

The employees were nice, and this wasn’t their fault, but I wouldn’t stay through them again. My confirmed airport pickup never showed. After several calls and three hours at the airport, I arranged my own transport. The cab driver didn’t know exactly where the place was, and the narrow alleys meant we had to walk. As a solo female, I found it disturbing to depend on a random person to get me there. When I arrived, there was no room for me despite my confirmation. They sent me to another Riad they owned, a 15-minute walk away. That room had a shared bathroom locked from the inside, so I had to wake the people in the other room to get in. It was very noisy. In the morning, there still wasn’t a room at the original place, so they walked me to another location at the Hotel Hayat, still a Riad and close to the square. It was tiny but had a private bathroom. While I was on a camel tour, they moved me again, to a very small room with the bathroom down the hall and the sink in the hallway. I never stayed at the place I reserved, so I can’t say if it matched the listing. What I got wasn’t the large double room with a queen bed, private bath, and air conditioning that I’d booked. Marrakesh was nice, and the employees were nice, but I wouldn’t stay with them again.

We were looking forward to staying at this riad, but after taking our passport details at check-in, the staff told us it was overbooked and sent us to a different hotel. The other place had unreliable hot water, some rooms smelled, the sheets weren’t clean, and we got only one towel for each room even though there were two of us. We also missed the breakfast listed as included in our booking. Airbnb was super helpful when we complained, and we were lucky to get our money back.

I’d be extremely cautious about booking here. Mohamed had us enter our passport details in the guest ledger, then told our group we were being moved to another guesthouse. I’d usually leave in that situation, but our friends were exhausted from the journey and didn’t have the energy to look for another place in Marrakech at that time of day, so we went with him. The replacement was a much older building and surely not the same value as the original. Our friends’ room had an intermittent sewage smell and no hot water. I’d ask for some kind of assurance that the place you book is what’s shown in the pictures and described, or book somewhere else.
