Riad Honey

Youssef was an attentive, caring host, and you can tell he loves what he does. He greeted me with a pot of mint tea in the beautiful lower courtyard. Upstairs, the flower-lined rooftop has loungers where you can relax and have breakfast. Riad Honey feels like a hidden oasis among Marrakesh’s busy streets. The rooms are authentic and beautifully styled, with very comfortable beds and air conditioning. I loved the omelettes and fresh orange juice at breakfast, which was really good value. This may be the most beautiful hotel I’ve ever stayed in.

Karima and Yousef were so kind and accommodating, and they made my solo trip feel especially welcoming. Riad Honey is a clean, tidy place tucked away near central Marrakech, with traditional Moroccan decor. My room was cozy and had one queen bed and one single bed. The rooftop is lovely for breakfast, with birds singing in the morning. I had a fantastic stay and would definitely recommend it if you want to be near the centre.

Yousef, the owner, welcomed us warmly with tea and took care of our requests. It felt like being at home. Breakfast was good, with bread, juice, coffee or tea, yogurt, and jams. The bed was made every day and was clean and comfortable. The sun terrace is beautiful, with two sunbeds, and the shower had warm water.

My first choice in Marrakesh would be Riad Honey. Each morning, his cousin made us a delicious breakfast whenever we wanted, so we could sleep in and relax. I still miss the fresh orange juice and local bread. Yussuf arranged our airport pickup in the middle of the night and gave us great advice for finding our way around the Medina, eating local food safely, and understanding how to bargain at the markets. After a little practice, I loved shopping like a berber! Whenever we asked about trips in or outside Marrakesh, he was kind and helpful and made good arrangements with local people. He even got our bus tickets for an unforgettable trip to Essaouria late the evening before, after we decided on it spontaneously. We recommend lunch at the local port, where the fish practically jumps from the sea onto your plate. Riad Honey is a real oasis. Walking through the Medina felt like travelling through time and seeing different cultures and ways of life.
