Riad Laila

Getting here with large suitcases could be difficult. The riad is in the narrow streets of the old medina and vehicles can’t reach it, so you have to pull your bags from where cars stop, about a five-minute walk away. We only had cabin bags, so it wasn’t much trouble for us. Inside, the bed was comfortable, breakfast was very nice, and the guys at the Riyad were helpful and kind. The garden and overall look are beautiful, but our room was old and lacked lighting. There were cupboards, but nowhere to hang clothes or jackets, and the heating wasn’t enough for winter. The breakfast room was also too cold. If you’re traveling internationally, bring your own adapter since the outlets may not fit your plugs. The bathroom bin was emptied throughout our stay, but the mirrors weren’t cleaned. There was mold on the ceiling, so we kept the window open a lot, which didn’t bother us. The shower kept clogging. The receptionist cleared it once, but it happened again, and we found that leaving the drain uncovered helped the water run properly.

We had a lovely stay in this riad. Our quadruple room was clean and charming, with enough space for all of us to move around comfortably. There are lots of plants and a small pool that’s very inviting, and the staff welcomed us warmly.

The riad is lovely and the whole team gave amazing service. It’s a bit farther from the Medina and some historical sites, which is the only downside. You can still walk everywhere, though it takes a little longer, and that wouldn’t stop me booking again.

The staff were lovely and helped us with all sorts of things, from getting new SIM cards to finding our way around. Our room was clean and spacious, with plenty of towels and a steady water temperature. The beautiful courtyard has palms, bushes and flowers, as well as turtles, birds and bats, which were great entertainment for the kids. It’s a gorgeous riad at the edge of the Medina, easy to reach through Bab Ben Brahim with parking right next to it. I can definitely recommend it for a few days in Marrakech.
