Abdul and Mohammad were the saving grace of my very stressful three-day stay, with their helpfulness and great attitude. The restaurant staff were great too. The location is excellent, right in the Medina and close to everything, and the main building is beautiful with a lovely terrace. Avoid the annex. I was promised a quiet room because of health issues, but was put in a noisy, shabby annex room. My problems started with a delayed transfer, and after lots of complaints and discussion, I was moved to a good room in the main building the next day. The massage I had booked was another problem: I booked 60 minutes, with 30 minutes offered free because of the room issues, but the spa gave me a quick, mediocre 45-minute massage and charged me for 30 minutes of it. They offered me a free dinner for all the hassle, but the chicken Tajine was very dry. At checkout, I also didn’t like how reception staff kept telling me to leave a good review.

Eyub gave us a really warm welcome and was very helpful with our trip. The Riad is close to all the attractions, the rooms are lovely and very clean, and breakfast was delicious. Thanks, Eyub. :)

The spa wasn’t relaxing for us. The hamam was fine, but the massages were disappointing: mine hurt and didn’t feel relaxing, and my boyfriend’s 30-minute booking lasted only about 15 minutes. The room wasn’t very clean either. Its door looked crooked, with a gap at the top as if part of it was missing, so air and possibly small animals could get inside. Too much morning light came into the room, which made it hard to sleep. The location is central in the old Medina, but didn’t feel nice or safe at night. It wasn’t a comfortable or restful stay at Bo Riad.

Hamza, Mohamed, Taha and Abdel went out of their way to make sure everything was right for my trip and that I felt safe exploring the city as a solo female traveller. Everyone was lovely, from the friendly reception team to the spotless cleaners and attentive servers. I had a great experience and would definitely stay again. Highly recommend it if you’re visiting Marrakech. Thanks for making the trip so memorable.
