Riad Souad

I really wouldn’t recommend this Riad. The owner’s attitude was the worst part, she was very rude and seemed to show racism, especially toward people from outside her country. The service was terrible and I felt unwelcome. The place was also dirty and poorly maintained. If you want to enjoy Marrakech, stay somewhere else.

The breakfast was great, and after long summer days walking around the city, having the pool was a real help. Rashid and the others working there were lovely, friendly, and always helpful. We stayed in the limon room from June 1-6. It’s right by the breakfast area and directly opposite reception, so privacy is limited, and sleeping past 8-9 am could be difficult. We arrived at night, and that first walk felt a bit scary: the riad is at the end of an alley in a mostly local, less touristy area. After a few days, though, we found that setting had its own charm and might be preferable to a more touristy spot.

Rachid and Aliche were so helpful, arranging rides for us and sharing ideas for things to do. The rooms are lovely, and the rooftop terrace and pool are beautiful. This would be my first choice when staying in Marrakech.

We stayed for three weeks while working, and Natalie’s Riad Souad was even better than we’d hoped. It was clean, welcoming, well stocked, and spacious enough to relax and feel at home. The location made it easy to reach the souks, daily markets, restaurants, and the places we wanted to visit. Jema El-Fna is about a 15-minute walk, though looking around the souks on the way made it feel shorter. By the time we left, Natalie, Ibtissam, Rachid, and Dunia felt practically like family. They went out of their way to help with everything and make sure we had what we needed. We loved their cooking so much that they made dinner for us almost every night. Thank you all for your kindness and for making the trip unforgettable. We hope we can come back someday! 😊
